Local tax revenue is to be used in the interests of those subject to it and is especially intended for the financing of information and reservation services and of local entertainment and the operation of those systems serving tourism, culture and sport.

The visitors’ tax regulations can be inspected on the homepage of the respective municipality. Visitors’ tax rates can vary depending on the nature of the operation.

Each visitor who is obliged to pay visitors’ taxes is entitled to a guest card which must be given to him/her by the host

  • Visitor's tax summer: 01.06. - 31.10.
  • Visitor's tax winter: 01.11. - 31.05.

Benefits with SaastalCard

all holiday homes that our partner organisations

Most local landlords offer their guests the SaastalCard. This is a guest card with interesting additional benefits, such as free use of the mountain railways (except Metro Alpin) in summer and free travel on the PostBus throughout the Saas Valley all year round.

We recommend that you ask your landlord before you arrive whether the accommodation provider offers the SaastalCard (there may be a surcharge per night, this must be noted in the rental agreement).

Guests receive the SaastalCard at our partner establishments (labelled).
